Briefly about Pygmalion manga: In the original Japanese, the title is written as “怪獣島のネコにゃんこ大集合” (lit. “Monster Island’s Cat-nyanko Big Gathering”). The term “nyanko” is a slang word for “cat”, and is used in place of the word “meow”. It is also used to describe a person who is acting like a cat, or someone who has cat-like characteristics. A manga adaptation was drawn by Masahiro Itabashi and was serialized in Shogakukan’s “CoroCoro Comic” magazine from September 2011 to September 2012. The manga ended with the announcement of a new manga titled , which began serialization in November 2012. The new manga focuses on the character of Ako Tamaki, with the story set before the events of the novel. A video game based on the series titled was released on October 11, 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console.
