Briefly about Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint Manga:

In the first chapters, we are shown the main character of the manhwa, Kim Dokchu. He has been reading a novel since he was a child. The protagonist of this novel is Yu Junshuk, a regressor. Regressor is like Tsubaru’s ability from Re:zero to return to a saved point after death.

There are several things that can be highlighted that positively set the Reader apart from other works of this genre. First and foremost is the setting and world conditions. In a nutshell: The end of the old world has forcibly occurred on Earth, people are forced to participate in so-called scenarios, quests, whose development is overseen by … roughly speaking, gods.

The gods in the Reader are just like us manhwa readers, they come in many different forms: some enjoy pure combat, some enjoy drama, some enjoy pure brutality, some enjoy cunning plans, and so on. All humans, after the death of the old world, now have a system somewhat similar to the System from Solo Leveling. This means that anyone, whether an old man or a child, can be the strongest in this world with the right approach.

I can note that the author is very fond of detail: the relationship dynamics (humans, “gods” and something else) both between the groups and within each are very interesting and complex. The scenarios that the MC goes through are not simple “kill so many of these beasts and you’ll have XP. I don’t want to go into detail because I don’t want to spoil anyone’s experience with spoilers.

The main character can’t be called Marty Sue or even OR, he will never be the strongest in the world. The most knowledgeable, perhaps, but not the strongest. He has a huge advantage over all other people (with the exception of one particular protagonist) of ten years’ duration. You could say he’s more adapted to the post-end-of-the-world world than he is to the ordinary world. He’s a damn sneaky, sneaky, somewhat greedy hypocrite. He admits it in himself with ease. But he cannot be called a cruel, heartless egoist.

After he has done something, whether positive or negative, he reflects on what happened, pondering whether it was right from the point of view of his humanity. Whether it was smart for the future. People who think he’s Marty Sue must have ditched the manhwa of it at the prologue. Because even the content of the first chapter shows how flawed he is.

What I especially liked, and what I want to highlight separately: the believability of the characters. It’s just amazing how much the characters’ reactions seem realistic. I never once had a moment where someone’s reactions to what was going on seemed far-fetched or artistically hyperbolized. In fact, all of the secondary characters who get at least a name can be interesting-they’re not cardboard for a purpose. What to say about the characters of the main cast…

So, the protagonist of the manhwa finishes reading the novel until the epilogue. He lived his life reading that novel, and then the novel became reality. Except that the protagonist of the manhwa was a reader and remains one. In the new world he has an ability – “the 4th wall”, if you do not understand the allegory, google the name of the ability. In general, it helps him not to catch courage from the situation, and quickly adapt (and not only).

Back to the hero of the novel. He doesn’t realize he’s a character in the book. But it’s worth it when he dies and everything starts all over again, in the subway. None of his companions will remember what they went through together and he will be alone again. This makes the guy’s head explode, and he stops appreciating the lives of the people around him. And so the two of them meet.
