The protagonist, Noel, is cold-blooded and intelligent. As a child, he admired his grandfather, a powerful adventurer. His grandfather was called “The Immortal” by others. Noel wanted to be like his grandfather. So he trained hard. It turns out, however, that his qualifications are as an announcer, the weakest class in terms of personal combat performance. In spite of this, Noel doesn’t give up. And continues to train hard. One day his home village is attacked by monsters. And in an unequal fight Noel’s grandfather is killed. Left all alone, Noel sets out into a cruel world full of deceit and betrayal. He wants to become the strongest adventurer.

Finally, the evil Noel everyone liked is coming back. There’s a reason the chapter is calling “One-Sided Massacre”. The last 2-3 chapters were more filler. But at least in the narrator universe they show the strength of the characters and don’t make up abilities on the fly. So you don’t get hard swarms when Noel uses a super duper buff that puts everyone down.
He is clearly on his way to his goal and doesn’t care about anyone but himself. This is shown very well when revealing the MC’s character. The author just doesn’t put him in that situation yet. But even without that it is clear that the MC is absolutely practical and selfish. And if the right situation arises, he’ll just say something like “nothing personal, just business”.
