Briefly about Legend of the Northern Blade Manga.

It’s divine, gorgeous drawings, cool fights, great color-coding. The plot is outstanding but solid and interesting. The characters are good, from the MC to the good-natured uncle. He’s always helping him out. Feels the scale of the world and logical ( as far as it goes). I’m surprised that so few people read such goodness. So, It’s been a long time since I was this excited about something. It’s not that dumb Chinese stuff they shove everywhere and give it a 100 out of 10. It’s just a great piece of work.

Read Legend of the Northern Blade Manga.

So, it’s a great piece of work. At least judging by the 24 chapters that have been released so far. In terms of genre, it’s more like a seinen than a senen. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’m sure you’ll find it hard to make out in the rare moments during the battle. This is one of the best manga (manhwa) I’ve read. It’s definitely in the top 5 out of 100. It’s a very promising piece of work. The drawing is very dynamic, you can feel the scale, the weight, the damage, the speed. The drawing of the characters is very good at letting you remember them. It won’t take you long to remember who it is and where you’ve seen it before (at least to a lesser extent).

This manhwa has two big pluses: The first is the battles. Especially the fight with the demon fist was good for me. If you haven’t read to that point, open up page 2 of chapter 67 and just flip through to the end of the fight, it’s beautiful near the end. I personally like it because I’m a fan of the martial arts genre. And in Korean comics it’s dark, just the way I like it.

Hence the second plus, the atmosphere. The dialogues might not work for you, because the translator might have screwed up, but because I’ve been reading the Xiangxia and Xuanhua Ranabe machine translation for a long time, the unintelligent dialogues became unnoticeable to me. Against 90% of the crap I’ve already seen, this is a top 5 piece of work in the genre.
